We’re proud to announce that Powwow Dance Classes have returned!
This 19 week program is open to all Indigenous families and individuals. Participants will dive deep into the protocols, history, and cultural significance of the Powwow. This series offers a unique opportunity for dancers to be honored during a special (optional) Coming Out Ceremony at the 37th Annual Indian Days Powwow.
Workshop Details
- 📅 Dates: Thursdays from February 19th through July 2nd (Note: There will be no class on March 12, 2026)
- ⏰ Time: 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM
- 📍 Location: Daybreak Star Cultural Center (5011 Bernie Whitebear Way, Seattle, WA)
- 🍎 Refreshments provided!
Dance Styles Taught
Classes cover a variety of traditional styles for both men and women:
- Mens’ Styles: Grass, Fancy, and Traditional
- Womens’ Styles: Jingle, Fancy, and Traditional
