Short Films Include:
HAAGUA – a new short film featuring a cast of surfers representing 13 tribal nations, traces the roots of a new generation that includes Andy Nieblas (Acjachemen), David Flores Ramos (Nahua), and Kaliko Kahoonei (Hawaiian).
Cleanings A Cakewalk – (Navajo Language Short) An imaginative and independent young boy, Albert, learns the value of hard work and finds his place in his community after having to clean the Chapter House which he finds out is no cake-walk in the park.
Commodity – Commodity is a Modern Native American folktale about one man’s trials and tribulation to get an indian taco.
The Queen’s Flower – animated short adventure for kids that follows Emma, a Native Hawaiian girl in 1915 Honolulu, as she makes a very special gift for the last reigning monarch of Hawai’i, Queen Lili’uokalani.
Janelle Niles: Inconvenient – Janelle Niles is a Black, Mi’kmaw, two-spirited woman from Sipekne’katik First Nation in Nova Scotia and a stand-up comedian. Despite a tumultuous upbringing, Janelle embraces her biracial experience and queer identity, using stand-up to usher in a new era of inclusive, Canadian comedy.
