Homelessness Prevention Program’s (HPP) Services
Launched in 2017, the Homelessness Prevention Program serves individuals and families who are at imminent risk of eviction through a strengths-based program of case management and financial assistance.
We provide financial assistance for rent or utility bills to qualified clients. See eligibility requirements on the next section.

Tenant Services
Besides providing direct rent assistance, our Tenant Services Program offers online workshops and 1:1 counseling for financial stability, creating and maintaining a budget, job hunting, tenant/landlord laws and more. Ask about our free resource packets!
Note: You must be a Seattle resident to receive services.

Benefits Navigation Services
Our program offers assistance in enrolling into various state and federal benefit programs, ensuring our clients receive the support they need. From healthcare to food assistance, housing support to academic financial aid, we’ve got you covered!
Eligibility
You must be a resident of King County, WA.
Our Services
- We offer appointments with DSHS Representatives to assist with your SNAP, TANF, SSI, SSDI, WIC, EBT applications
- Accessing public utility discount programs
- Navigating academic financial aid processes
- Assisting with appeals for denied benefits

Our funders include King County Regional Homelessness Authority, King County Department of Community and Human Services, and Seattle Department of Construction and Inspections.
HPP Eligibility Requirements
HPP Client must meet the following:
- Behind in rent at least one month
- Behind in utilities at least one payment
- Rental Arrears (Rental Debt) Totaling no more than $5000, (If you live outside of Seattle).
- Received a notice to pay or vacate
- Live within Seattle City Limits (or Live in King County and be under 25 years or have children on the lease.)
- Low income (Less that 50% of Area Medium Income)
- Can show proof of income and/or benefits such as unemployment, EBT
Other Considerations:
- If client is seeking rental assistance, they must be behind in rent at least one month or partial month
- If client is seeking utilities assistance only, the client must dwell in the unit where utilities are being provided and have missed at least one payment in the past two months
- Client must sign an UIATF Release of Information (ROI) to allow us to talk to their landlords
- Client must be willing to sign a statement of truth attest that all documents and all information provided throughout application process are correct and truthful
- Landlord must agree to accept rent assistance
